This is definitely one great goal, and Ghanian winger Christian would certainly be proud of what he has done with the ball from so far out.
Loaned out to Everton from Chelsea, Atsu grabbed a brace during Ghana’s 3-0 win over Guinea for their quarter final tie in the ongoing African Cup of Nations on Sunday, but it was his second goal that was the highlight to take away from the match.
The goal came in after a solo effort from Atsu who unleashed a brilliant shot from 25-yards-out from the edge of the box, and despite the angle being tight, the ball found its way past the Guinea keeper.
Following the match, when asked about his performance, the 23-year-old was quoted by GhanaSoccerNet, saying, “I am not the one playing well, it is the team that is playing well and I am happy about that.”
“Goals are not that important, win is more important and therefore I am happy that we won the game,” he added.
