Over the course of two years, Nemanja Matic has emerged into what you can call a modern day machine in the midfield for his teams, especially for Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea where he has flourished in the infamous Makelele position.
The Serbian has never been shy off tackling when necessary, and his tackle in an attempt to dispossess Geoff Cameron off the ball during Chelsea’s 0-2 win over Stoke City at the Brittania Stadium.
Tackling, what many pundits refer to say today, is a dying art in football. But, with clean tackles like these, that Matic is more than capable of pulling off on a weekly basis, we are hopeful that the days of bad, rash tackles (we are looking at you, Stoke!) will be past us.
