CSKA Moscow trained at the Allianz Arena on Monday (16th September) ahead of their match against Bayern Munich in UEFA Champions League Group D.
Leonid Slutsky, CSKA Moscow coach, said: “Sure, there is a difference when you compare the teams with each other – that’s clear. But in this Bayern Munich team there are the best players in the world. And will continue to play the successful football they played last season. Sure there was a certain restructuring in the team but the restructuring is long over and the team is is ready. You could tell when you watched the Super Cup. The team is now complete and in perfect shape. Of course, the team is definitely different to last season.”
“Yes, of course we are very disappointed that such a key figure, such as Alan Dzagoev can not play tomorrow. This is a very big disappointment but I have to get on with it. I just need to organise the other players. A team like CSKA Moscow must be able to have a replacement but I currently do not have a player to replace him. I wish I could easily have a replacement. The team will not be stronger with the loss. I just have to deal with the loss. But I will definitely send eleven players to the field tomorrow.”
