England welcomed Denmark to their home turf in what was the last international match before the World Cup. Roy Hodgson fielded a full strength side, handing chances to youngsters like Raheem Sterling and Luke Shaw. The English entered the game as firm favourites, but struggled to break down a stubborn Danish defence.
Daniel Sturridge broke the deadlock with a well directed header in the dying minutes of the game, from a sublime cross by Southampton captain and second half substitute, Adam Lallana. The home side managed the sneak over the line with a fairly abject performance.
