Ex Manchester United midfielder Anderson needed an oxygen mask after completing just 36 minutes of his second match for Internacional. The Brazilian left Manchester United for his new club after falling out of favour of new boss Louis van Gaal who openly deemed the 26-year-old unfit for the Premier League.
The Brazilian made his debut for Internacional last week against Cruzeiro. Anderson came on as a substitute and managed to miss a penalty during his time on the pitch. Tuesday, Anderson was handed his first start against Bolivian outfit The Strongest in the Copa Libertadores.
Anderson, however, could only manage 36 minutes of the match before exhaustion got the better off him. Anderson’s breathing issues became so bad that oxygen needed to be administrated to the player on the bench, after coming off.
On the Brazilian’s defence, the match was being played in the city of La Paz, which is 35,000m above sea level and hence is known for causing altitude sickness. Anderson’s team lost the match 3-1.
