Real Madrid aren’t exactly having the best of starts to the 2014/15 season. With back-to-back defeats to Real Sociedad and derby rivals Atletico Madrid, a number of fans are not too happy with their performances on the field.
World record signing Gareth Bale was on the receiving end of some abuse as he left the Madrid training ground on Monday, ahead of their first Champions League group match against FC Basel.
When the Welshman refused to stop for autographs, a couple of supporters tried to kick his car as he passed by. While one fan missed, the other made contact.
Kroos and Varane also abused by fans
Germany’s Toni Kroos, who made a £20m move from Bayern Munich this summer, was also abused by some of the fans.
Some of the fans shouted: “W****” and “foreign s***” while Varane was also abused even though he stopped to sign autographs.
