Goalkeeper’s overhead kick resulted in weird own goal

Jordan’s national team goalkeeper Mohammad Shatnawi scored what was one of the most bizarre (and probably funniest) own goals seen ever, as his attempted overhead kick went straight into the net. The fact that it happened in the fiercely contested Amman derby between Al-Wehdat and Al-Faisaly made it even more funny.

Shatnawi fumbled a routine save from a weak shot taken by one of the Al-Wehdat players, and when he got a second chance at it, he tried to clear it acrobatically with an overhead kick, when he could have caught it, and the ball looped into the goal! The match ended with Al-Wehdat winning a pretty one-sided match 3-0.
