The 22-year-old is yet to play for the India senior team but has already made more than 100 appearances for East Bengal. The six feet five and a half inches tall custodian also had a trial-cum-training stint at Wigan Athletic in July 2012.
Gurpreet, who idolises Dutch great Edwin van der Sar, has also been included among the India Under-23 probables for this year’s Asian Games.
