Rocked by a serious knee injury during his first year at Granada, Algerian midfielder Hassan Yebda has been speaking about how Ramadan affects his preparations for a third season at the Spanish club.
Hassan Yebda, Granada and Algeria midfielder:“There are three players here following Ramadan. We don’t do it every day. In this heat it gets very difficult to keep it up, especially when we have double training sessions. We follow the fasting when we have a single training session. We can’t follow it when we have a game.”
Hassan Yebda, Granada and Algeria midfielder:“This is my third season at Granada. I arrived two years ago, and after six months I suffered a very serious knee injury that kept me out of competition for eighteen months. It was a very difficult time for me. But now I am happy training with the rest of the team and playing in the (pre-season) friendly games. I feel very good.”
Hassan Yebda, Granada and Algeria midfielder:“I’ve spoken to the people from the Algerian national team and I will not join them for the next game because they don’t want to interrupt my preparation. But I think I will be summoned for the following World Cup qualifying game against Mali in September.”
