Boca Juniors forward Jonathan Calleri pulled of one of the best Rabona goals ever in his team’s Argentine Primera Division match gainst Quilmes. Despite all the attention being on Carlos Tevez’s return to his boyhood club, the 21-year-old striker’s impeccable finish completely stole the limelight.
Calleri had oodles of space on the right side of the box when he received a pass from Sebastian Palacios, and the Argentine tried to pick out Tevez on the left. The pass was awkwardly intercepted by the Quilmes defender, allowing Calleri to pull off a stunning rabona lob into the top corner.
The goal ensured that Carlos Tevez was on the winning side in his first start of his second stint with Boca Juniors, as they ran out 2-1 winners.
Argentina legend and former Boca Juniors star Diego Maradona was in the stands to watch his team’s win, and his eccentric reaction to the 53rd minute goal adds further credibility to a potential FIFA Puskás award nomination for Calleri at the end of the year.
