A Neymar brace helped Barcelona beat nine-man Atletico Madrid 3-2 in the Copa del Rey quarter-final on Wednesday at the Vicente Calderon to advance to their eighth semi-final in the competition in nine years. But the Brazilian was involved in more than just goals in the second leg.
Atletico were two men short due to the sending off of Gabi at half time due to an altercation in the tunnel and when Mario Suarez saw red later on in the game. It was no wonder then that the Atletico players were left frustrated with the result and even the officials.
Arda Turan even threw his shoe at an unsuspecting linesman which luckily missed the target. But Juanfran made the headlines when he tried to taunt Neymar.
The Spanish defender was seen arguing with Neymar and showing him 7 fingers – an obvious refernce to Brazil’s humiliating 7-1 defeat to Germany in the 2014 FIFA World Cup semi-final on home soil.
