Monaco thumped opposition Montpellier by a 4-1 scoreline at the Stade Louis II to give the club a perfect start to the new Ligue 1 season.
Emmanuel Riviere scored a hat-trick to register himself on the score sheet along with new recruit Radamel Falcao. Victor Hugo Montano scored the only goal for the visitors who were taken apart by a buoyant Monaco side.
