Liverpool resume their Europa League campaign on Thursday night against Bundesliga side FC Augsburg. The first leg of their Round of 32 tie is in Augsburg at the WWK Arena – a place Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is no stranger to. The German boss has taken his Borussia Dortmund side there before and won a few games.
Now visiting with Liverpool, the German boss was in a jovial mood while his squad warmed up during a training session. As the team assembled around the centre circle, Klopp had the ball at his feet while Brazilian forward Roberto Firmino stretched himself out.
While Firmino went through the motions, Klopp saw his opportunity and took it with aplomb. With Firmino’s feet rooted to the spot, Klopp kicked the ball straight through Firmino’s legs and let out a triumphant laugh.
As Firmino realized what had just happened, he wagged a finger at Klopp as his face also broke into a wide smile. Klopp, on the other hand, just grinned with a look that seemed to say, “Who’s the boss, Bobby?”
Jurgen Klopp 1-0 Roberto Firmino.
FC Augsburg vs Liverpool is set to kickoff at 20:05 (1:35 AM IST on Friday).
