Louis van Gaal is not a man of subtleties. And he doesn’t forget easily either. Last week, his comments on Daley Blind’s injury were misinterpreted by the club’s Official Twitter account causing a mass uproar on the micro-blogging website. Blind had damaged his knee ligaments during Netherland’s Euro 2016 qualifying match against Latvia and United's Twitter feed said he would be out for six months when in reality the manager had said that it would definitely not take 6 months.
The Dutch Player of the Year is expected to get back on Monday and return to action in the next couple of weeks. The ‘Iron Tulip’, on being asked about left-back Luke Shaw’s injury referred to the misinterpretation and asked the person handling the Twitter account to pay attention and then proceeded to read out an update from a piece of paper given to him by the medical supervisor. He confirmed that Shaw will be out for a few weeks after an injury at the Emirates Stadium during the 2-1 win over Arsenal.
“Last time I have said something and it was not so good interpreted. So, I have asked my medical advisor. Maybe Manchester United Twitter account can pay attention to it.” he said.
“So, Luke sustained an ankle ligament injury but with no serious complications and he will be out for the next few weeks because of this.” he added.
