Manuel Pellegrini was given the perfect start to his reign as Manchester City manager with a 4-0 drubbing of Newcastle United.
David Silva started the game off in rousing fashion for City when he was able to head the first goal in, past United’s keeper Tim Krul, less than six minutes into the game.
Then, in the 22nd minute, Sergio Aguero was able to score through a superb back flick pass from Džeko. Things turned worse for United when Steven Taylor was sent off neat the end of the second half, leaving the team down to ten men.
