Manchester United have made waves in the transfer window having announced the signings of Matteo Darmian, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin in the space of a couple days. They made moves early too, completing the acquisition of Dutch winger Memphis Depay towards the end of season.
United have started their pre-season well too, earning a 1-0 win against Club America thanks to a Schneiderlin header. Once again, a new signing was on song for them as they scored two goals in the space of 5 minutes in the first half against the San Jose Earthquakes.
Juan Mata was on target in the 32nd minute and Depay quickly doubled their lead on the 37-minute mark.
While San Jose managed to claw one back before the second half, Salinas slipping neatly past Schneiderlin to cut it back to Alashe who made no mistake putting the ball in the back of the net.
United sealed their win in the 61st minute when Jesse Lingard hung up a superb cross for Andreas Pereira’s well-timed header to once again give the Red Devils a 2-goal cushion.
