The 16-year-old has scored his first for Real Madrid’s B-team after he had earlier provided two assists in a friendly after joining the Galacticos this winter.
Martin Odegaard’s goal came against Barakaldo during Castilla’s Segunda Division B match against Barakaldo at the Alfredo di Stéfano Stadium and was his team’s first goal in the match as he slotted the ball inside the net following some good work from striker Raúl de Tomás.
“It was great to get my first goal here, it feels amazing. I don’t know what I’ll do with this shirt, I’ll keep it I think,” he was quoted saying by Spanish agency AS.
“I feel very comfortable, (Zinedine) Zidane is a great coach and he helps me a lot. It’s amazing to train with the best players in the world. I learn every day from them and (Carlo) Ancelotti is a great person, the best coach for Real Madrid,” he added.
The team would go on to score three more goals through Guillermo Varela, Mariano and Álvaro Medrán. Castilla are currently second in the league table, and if Odegaard keeps up with these kinds of performances throughout the season, it wouldn’t be surprising if they earn promotion to the second division as champions.
