Italy defeated Mexico 2-1 as Andrea Pirlo marked his 100th cap with a goal. The 34-year-old brought the Maracana crowd to its feet as he scored a brilliant goal from a free-kick in the 27th minute. Mario Balotelli scored the winning goal for the Italians in the 78th minute.
