Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho spoke to reporters before their tie against Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge Wednesday where he refused to talk about former Chelsea player Frank Lampard who is currently on loan at Manchester City.
When quizzed about his former player Frank Lampard, Mourinho refused to comment on the English midfielder stating, “I don’t speak about former players. When I speak about former players, I speak about players who finish their career like William Gallas, but not Frank. Frank, at the moment, plays against us.”
The Portuguese insisted that he has as much faith in striker Loic Remy and Didier Drogba as he has on Diego Costa who is suspended for picking his fifth yellow card of the season.
“We don’t speak about Diego,” he said. “We trust Remy and Drogba the same way we trust Diego. This is not our way of working. So forget Diego. We trust the other two and we go with the other two.”
In a lighter turn of events, when a reporter stated that Chelsea haven’t lost against Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge since Gary Lineker last scored against them 24 years ago, Mourinho joked saying, “So tomorrow he can’t.”
