Life after Manchester United hasn't started too well for centre-back Nemanja Vidic.
The Serbian gave away a penalty in the first half after foul on Fabio Quagliarella on his Serie A debut against Torino though Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic saved Marcelo Larrondo kick to hand Inter a reprieve.
Things became worse when in extra time in the second half Vidic applauded the referee Daniele Doveri after a decision went in his favour.
The 32-year-old repeated his clap and thumbs up gestures while he left the field with disbelief and a smile on his face.
Inter manager Walter Mazzari was furious at the referee’s decisions
"If the referee gives the first penalty, he should have given the one on Icardi (Inter), which was much clearer than the one on Quagliarella(Torino)," he said referring to the penalty that Torino got.
“As for the Vidic red card, the referee lost the plot. Vidic is used to playing in England, where if a fair foul is given, they applaud the referee and say 'you got it right'."Here Doveri misunderstood the intention and thought it was malicious. It's absurd."
