Neymar Jr. showed off his footballing skills in a promotional video for the popular football video game, Pro Evolution Soccer (PES), during the launch of the 2016 edition of the game.
The 23-year old Brazilian is presently considered one of the greatest players in the world and was in the third spot for the ‘player of the year’ award at the recently concluded Ballon d’Or.
Neymar, who plays for Barcelona FC said that he would like his own feet replaced by Messi’s left foot and Ronaldo’s right during the Ballon d’Or award ceremony on being asked what he liked best about the other two players.
Already a fan favourite now, Neymar has a total of 72 goals in 115 appearances for Barcelona in his three year career.
Neymar appeared on the front covers of PES 2012 and 2013 on the North American version of the cyber game. He confirmed later that he was an ambassador for the PES franchise of Konami Digital Entertainment alongside Cristiano Ronaldo. Neymar was also the first Brazilian athlete to be ‘so honoured’ after he was featured on the cover of Time magazine. Neymar was also called the most marketable athlete by SportsPro magazine in 2013. He topped the list consisting of athletes like Lionel Messi, Usain Bolt, Rory Mcllroy and Cristiano Ronaldo.
In the crossbar challenge (in the video) with F2Freestylers, a YouTube channel, Neymar boasted off his skills. Neymar hit four out of five shots at the cross bar. In the Spectacular Crossbar challenge which followed, Neymar was required to hit balls in motion at the crossbar of the goal post, after receiving them from others. The Brazilian came out with flying colours at both the challenges.
