Trailing 2-0 against Wattenscheid 09 last weekend, Germany fourth-tier team, Rot-Weiss Essen bounced back via a brilliant free-kick and went on to draw the game 2-2.
The free-kick routine deployed by Essen was outstanding. Six Rot-Weiss Essen players surrounded the ball and two of their players pretended to take the free-kick at the same time.
While they were remonstrating with each other, Benedikt Koep stepped forward and sent an amazing left-footed free-kick into the top corner, leaving Wattenscheid’s goalkeeper and players astounded.
