Manchester United ended their 2014-15 Premier League campaign with a goalless draw against Hull City. The result proved to be inconsequential for United, who finished their season in 4th position while Hull were relegated.
The fact that the hosts were desperate was clear, as they tried their best to break the deadlock and score, even having two goals disallowed correctly for offside. However, when that didn’t work, striker Abel Hernandez decided to take matters into his own hands, or as was in this case, his own fist!
Here is another angle of the incident:
The Uruguayan’s punch caught Jones bu surprise, and the United defender crumpled to the ground, before getting up and letting the striker know exactly how he felt. He also complained to the referee but saw no action taken.
Here is another picture of the incident from a different angle:
Hernandez was lucky to escape a sending-off then but is sure to face retrospective action from the FA for the same at the beginning of next season, when Hull start their campaign in the Championship.
