Video: Player didn't know he had been substituted, comes back on after injury treatment

In what was a hilarious sequence of events, FC Utrecht’s striker Edouard Duplan came on to the field after he had been injured. Nothing unusual in that, except the fact that he had already been substituted.

At around the 25 minute mark, Duplan, who had to go off the field to receive treatment, came back on. To his surprise, when he came back on, he was asked to go off the field by the referee, and was then told that he had been substituted.

Although initially he was confused, he did later show the presence of mind to appreciate the slightly funny situation as he spoke to the coaching staff on the bench.
