Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola and Schalke coach Jens Keller reflect after Bayern won 4-0.
Pep Guardiola, Bayern Munich coach, said: “We have a lot of games coming up. Next Wednesday against Hannover, then Wolfsburg at home and then we’ve got to fly to Manchester. We’ve got to focus on our performance, so we can keep the fans happy during Oktoberfest! We won’t be drinking too much beer!”
“Yes, it’s good for him, for the team and for me as well. He’s been the best player in the Bundesliga over the last few years and a player that has a lot of experience and a strong character. He can do everything with the ball and gets into position into the box well. He’s a super player. He played 75 minutes and that was a good test for him and for me too.”
Jens Keller, Schalke coach, said: “We wanted to come out in the second half and try and pull a goal back but our resistance wasn’t exactly as I had pictured it. I had hoped that the team would be more aggressive getting back and believe in themselves but it was incredibly difficult. Bayern Munich have a lot of quality in their side; they’re very confident on the ball when they’re under pressure so that meant that we didn’t really get into the game and create chances.”
