Real Madrid’s 2-1 loss to arch rivals Barcelona on Sunday seemed to have tipped over the mounting frustrations of a few fans over their team’s current form.
The Los Blancos superstars were subjected to jeers and whistles at the Santiago Bernabeu after their 4-3 loss to Schalke in the Champions League, but the El Clasico loss brought about something even more serious.
A video clip shot just outside of Madrid’s Valdebebas training ground hours after the match showed a handful of Madridistas stopping the players’ cars as they were driving out of the compound and hurling abuses at them.
While Gareth Bale and Jese decided to drive away, Sergio Ramos decided to confront the fans and berate them for their deplorable behaviour. He asked them, “What’s the matter? Do you think that’s the right attitude?” He also said that Real Madrid’s players had “left everything on the pitch”.
