For Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure, the friendly match against Real Madrid turned out to be a ‘not so friendly’ affair. Toure was on the receiving end of a wild attempt to clear the ball by Keylor Navas, who got it horribly wrong and ended up knocking the giant Ivorian out.
In the process, Sergio Ramos who had cleared the ball ahead of Navas, also got hurt. The duo needed medical attention before the match could continue. Toure did manage to score a penalty after the incident which suggests that he was alright.
Both teams fielded a strong squad despite the match being a friendly at the MCG. The managers would hope that their key players don’t get injured even before the start of the season due to incidents like these.
