Chelsea lost on the night 3-2 to Rubin Kazan but progressed to the Europa League semifinal after winning 5-4 on aggregate. After a good start with a goal from Fernando Torres, Chelsea were cruising but a disappointing defensive performance from Chelsea in the second half with two sloppy headers and a debatable penalty conceded, Chelsea made life difficult for themselves but thankfully saw the game out to reach their fourth Cup semifinal of the season.
