Chelsea and Everton played out a pulsating match with a barrage of goals last night but there was an incident which didn’t get enough attention as it might have if the result was reversed.
In the 9th minute of the match when the visiting side were already ahead by 2 goals, Tim Howard came out of his box to take control of a through-ball mean for Eden Hazard but clearly handled it outside.
Had that been deemed as denial of a clear goalscoring opprtunity, it could have been a Red Card for the American goalkeeper.
Howard was involved in another incident late on in the game. After Chelsea got their third via an own goal by Seamus Coleman, Diego Costa picked up the ball and decided to reel him up and said something to him getting his face close to the Irish fullback.
The 35-year-old goalkeeper didn’t take too kind to the incident and confronted him grabbing him in the process. He was booked for the incident.
