After securing a spot in the FIFA Confederations Cup semi-final thanks to an emphatic 10-0 thrashing of lowly Tahiti, the Spaniards are getting ready to face Nigeria in their next match, who will be desperately looking to win to qualify for the next stage.
Four goals from Fernando Torres, three from David Villa, a double for David Silva and a solitary Juan Mata goal saw the Spaniards reach double figures against Tahiti, but they will be expecting a much tougher test against the African side.
Spain held a light training session for the players who started against Tahiti and a more demanding physical session for those in the main starting lineup, and they were still finding the net for fun, despite these goals being considerably smaller than regualtion size!
Spain lead Group B with 6 points, followed by Nigeria and Uruguay with 3 and the minnows of the group Tahiti haven’t managed a point.
Spain, will confirm top spot in Group B as long as they do not lose to Nigeria on Sunday.
