To say I have been surprised that Romelu Lukaku has only featured as a substitute in both our opening games is an understatement.
After an impressive season last term and five goals in Chelsea’s pre season campaign this summer, Lukaku was a nailed on starter for me before the opening game of the season against Hull. As we know that never happened and once again on Wednesday night, Lukaku was overlooked as Demba Ba was handed his first start of the season. Surely, Lukaku will get his chance on Monday night at Old Trafford?
What do you think about Lukaku first and foremost and whether or not he should start? Do you agree with me and encourage Mourinho to finally give him the nod this season, or do you believe that after being rested on Wednesday, Fernando Torres will start again?
Lukaku, as we have all seen, provides Chelsea with a different option up front. He’s quick, he’s strong and powerful and can play as a link man or on the shoulder of the last defender.
We have seen the effect he had on the last game of the season for West Brom against United, scoring a hat-trick so why not give him he nod on Monday?
What do you think Chelsea fans? Should Lukaku start against Manchester United?
