Thierry Henry is now 37 years old, yet he plays with the guile and determination of someone 10 years younger.
The Frenchman was at it again as he set up two goals in New York Red Bulls’ 2-0 win over DC United on Sunday in the first leg of the MLS Eastern Conference semi-finals.
New York 1-0 DC United
The first assist was the highlight of the game as he set up Bradley Wright-Phillips with a no-look back-heel assist which flummoxed the defence and the goalkeeper who realized too late that Wright-Phillips was in the box.
New York 2-0 DC United
The Red Bulls then doubled the lead when Henry found Peguy Luyindula making a run through the middle. Henry, near the half line, lobbed a ball over the United defence to find Luyindula who had only the goalkeeper to beat.
Although the keeper charge out of his six-yard box to make the save Luyindula managed to score past him with a side-footed finish.
