Thierry Henry was a part of Steven Gerrard’s team for the Liverpool’s All-Star Charity match at Anfield. During the match against Jamie Carragher’s XI, the former Arsenal player showed the fans at Anfield why he is considered one of the greatest strikers to play in the Premier League.
Anfield played witness to a horde of stars like Xabi Alonso, Fernando Torres, Luis Suarez and Pepe Reina among others, who returned to Liverpool for the game, but Henry’s piece of skill made the headlines.
Mario Balotelli and Didier Drogba had put Carragher’s team 2 goals up and the half was set for an interesting close after Gerrard had halved the deficit. Gerrard’s team could have gone into the half level after a brilliant piece of skill by Henry set up former Liverpool winger Ryan Babel.
In the 41st minute, Henry shaped to shoot, but faked his shot and in the same motion used his left foot to set up Babel. Unfortunately the Dutchman missed the chance, but the match did see an equalizer when Gerrard levelled from the spot in the second half.
