Samir Nasri was the subject of a horrible challenge from Newcastle United midfielder Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa on Sunday. Nasri was stretchered off the field and is suspected to have suffered a ligament injury.
Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini said after the match that Nasri had suffered a “serious” ligament injury but wouldn’t confirm if it was a Anterior Cruciate Ligament(ACL) injury as feared by many. If it is indeed an ACL injury, it could see the Frenchman miss the remainder of the season and the World Cup in June. Nasri’s girlfriend though has tweeted that experts have informed them that Nasri could be out for just 4 weeks.
Here’s the video of the challenge by Yanga-Mbiwa which should have seen the Newcastle man getting a red card!
