Zenit St Petersburg manager Luciano Spaletti discusses his side’s upcoming top of the table clash with Spartak Moscow in the Russian Premier League.
With joint-Russian league leaders Zenit St Petersburg preparing to face Spartak Moscow in a top of the table clash on Saturday, manager Luciano Spalletti found himself defending his recent tendency to leave Russian star Andrey Arshavin out of the team.
Arshavin has only played a full 90 minutes once this season and has regularly had to settle with a place on the Zenit bench.
Spalletti was in blunt form when asked about why he has been leaving the 32-year-old midfielder out of his starting line-ups.
Having only lost one game in the league so far this season the Italian manager is in no hurry to rush Arshavin back into the side.
