When Paris Saint-Germain played St. Etienne in Ligue 1 on Sunday night, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Baysse had a slight altercation. The Swedish striker had earlier scored the only goal in the game with a penalty but was booked for a foul late in the game.
Romain Hamouma was brought down by the PSG striker who caught him on the shin. As Hamouma fell to the ground in pain, the referee had no option but to book Ibrahimovic.
Following the booking, St. Etienne defender Baysse approached Ibrahimovic and argued over whether it was a necessary foul. Ibrahimovic was in no mood to argue and tried to dismiss him by asking, “Who are you?” while checking the name printed on the back of his shirt.
Baysse was quick to respond and did exactly the same thing and asked him who he was. Yes, he asked Zlatan Ibrahimovic, one of the world’s most recognizable footballers, who he was.
The big Swede was clearly not impressed with his cheeky remark and showed his displeasure, obviously miffed with the response. But all was forgiven as PSG went home with all three points and Ibrahimovic even managed to laugh it off, hugging Baysse’s teammate Joel Tsafack Nguemo in the process.
