Recent newspaper reports that linked Nemanja Vidic with a move away from United in January have been dismissed as rubbish by his agent. Speaking to www.itasportpress.it, Silvano Martina categorically denied interest from Juventus and said there are no negotiations on going with either Juventus or Barcelona. With reports earlier in the week suggesting Russian side Zenit Saint Petersburg were thinking of buying the 30 year-old, it’s slightly interesting to see Martina exclude them; with Zenit reportedly willing to pay up to 30 million pounds, I’m sure the club would at least consider taking the money for somebody of his age.
He said “Vidic is not playing at this time because he’s had surgery, so he’s only thinking about his recovery and not about the transfer market,” Martina told itasportpress.it. “Juventus are complete with their non-EU players for this season and it is highly unlikely they will make a bid for Vidic, therefore I can categorically rule out any interest from them. Vidic is already part of a top club and there are no negotiations with Juventus or Barcelona.” Vidic has remained a loyal servant to our club and is still one of our best players, despite going through a tough patch of injuries – and it would be a backwards move to see him move on, regardless of the money offered.
