Survivor ‘Stamford Bridge‘ continued yesterday as Andre-Villas Boas claimed he did not need the support of his players, just the support of the almighty Roman Abromvich.
AVB, or Andre the Baby as we’ve labelled him here at the ChelseaChiefs bizarrely let out,
“They don’t have to back my project, only the owner needs to back my project”.
Following the clamitious Everton match, it’s been well-documented the Chelsea players were frustrated at the cancellation of their post-match day off. Instead of relaxing, the entire first team squad reported to Cobham for a gruelling training session at 10am Sunday. Typical player power situations would have arisen, and there was a meeting within the squad to understand just what went wrong. Seems a little dramatic to me. Would all this be happening if Howard Webb wasn’t the referee against United?
AVB claimed there was nothing out of the usual at the meeting stating,
“There was a meeting of technical staff and players, nothing dramatic. Everybody understands we need more and responsibility for this must be shared between the players and management.”
Okay Andre the baby, but when was it that you stood up and said your methods have not been working? Sure the players have been getting criticised, but maybe the players would respect you if you put your hand up and said ‘you’d done wrong’?
Even in Survivor the contestants form allegiances. Better get moving otherwise it’s time to go… Andre.
