Wackiest Football Celebrations!

Celebrations after scoring a goal are not uncommon but some celebrations leave us laughing our heads off. Here are a few celebrations that will certainly lift your spirits.

Roger Milla: He scored this trademark goal of his against Columbia in the 1990 World Cup, dispossessing eccentric yet talented ‘keeper Rene Higuita and scoring into an empty net. He then went to the corner flag and performed that immortal dance of his. And he did this at the astonishing age of 38 when most players decide to hang up their boots.

Stjarnan FC: This team must be familiar with most football fans, not for their playing style or players but for their innovative and unconventional celebrations. One time they go fishing, once they make a human toilet and on one occasion (this is my favorite) they form a cycle. Original and hilarious!

Finidi George: Though this celebration is short, it is certainly interesting. The guy is from Nigeria and he did it in the 1994 World Cup against Greece. Looks like a tribute too his dog.

Paul Gascoigne: When Paul Gascoigne scored a fantastic goal, he went beside the post and slept while other players poured water into his mouth from bottles near the touchline. The celebration mimicked a pre-tournament incident when the English players were caught sitting in a dentist’s chair while alcohol was being poured into their mouths.

Emile Heskey: Though the goal wasn’t so great and neither was the celebration, I’ve mentioned the celebration here just because Lord Heskey was part of it. He performed the famous putt celebration. England beat Germany in an unforgettable 1-5 away win and this match will rekindle the joy of one of the greatest English wins.

Bahrain: This celebration was performed against India. The goalscorer hit his fellow teammates with a dart and all of them fell down. I hate it because they did it against India, but one must accept the fact that the celebration was new.

Julius Aghahowa: The player from Nigeria scored against Sweden in the 2002 World Cup and performed a few back flips. But what’s new is that he performed six of them nonstop. Amazing!

Daniel Braaten: He scored the goal as if it was a piece of cake and then did some sort of break dance (Forgive me, I don’t know the real name of the dance form). Just awesome. Looks like he has a good career after football.

Bernardo Corradi and Joey Barton: Do you know that our bad boy Joey Barton is knighted? Sir Barton was knighted by none other than Bernardo Corradi by a corner flag after he scored a goal of Barton’s pass. Exquisite!

Senegal: This is what you call an excellent group dance. After a win against Oman, the entire Senegal team did a jig for a while and a few even threw their jerseys into the crowd. And when you think it is over they start another item. Good synchronization!

Hope you liked it and though there are plenty of others, these in my opinion are the most comical and in some cases pioneering!
