#2 April 10, 2011 – Borussia Monchengladbach vs FC Koln
The German Bundesliga hosts some exhilarating derby games and the Rhine derby between Monchengladbach and Koln is one of the most fiercely fought contests in the country. There is no feeling better for the Die Fohlen faithful than beating the red army of Koln and a 5-1 rout would be absolute jubilation. That was the scoreline when Koln visited the Borussia-park that day and obviously, Marco Reus was the star of the show.
Reus scored two, set up one and his second goal was one from the top drawer. It came 6 minutes before the break as Dante switched play from the left side with a cracking ball to find Mike Hanke at the edge of the Koln box. The striker headed the ball towards Marco Reus who controlled the ball with his right foot and struck it on the volley and his strike beat a helpless Michael Rensing.
Reus’s strike was made look easy because of his sublime technique and only a few players in the world would have had the confidence they could beat the goalkeeper from that range.
