Wayne Rooney, who was in Bangkok, Thailand, as a part of Manchester United‘s pre-season tour of Asia, has been sent home after sustaining a hamstring injury in training.
The club statement read: “Following a scan this evening on a hamstring injury sustained in training, it has been decided that Wayne Rooney should return home immediately for further assessment and rehabilitation.”
The extent of the injury is unknown, although the statement added: “It is anticipated he will be unavailable for selection for a month.”
This is the second injury concern to the club with Nemanja Vidic having been already been ruled out of the pre season tour owing to back problem.
