Wayne Rooney's spectacular Corner Kick Fail in England-Italy match

A dejected Wayne Rooney leaves the pitch following England’s 2-1 defeat at the hands of Italy.

This was not Wayne Rooney’s night.

Yes, he did provide a sublime assist for Daniel Sturridge to score England’s solitary goal, but he was woeful otherwise.

Played out of position, Rooney did have a couple of chances on goal but was wasteful as his England goal drought in World Cups continue.

But the biggest highlight of the game was this spectacularly misguided corner kick! The delivery was so bad that it landed behind the goalkeeper’s net near the advertising boards.

Chin up, Wayne. At least you’re still getting £300,000 per week.

It didn’t stop Twitter from having a good laugh though.
