According to the Mirror, Netherlands and Inter Milan playmaker Wesley Sneijder has been urged by Inter Milan President, Massimo Moratti, to come to a verdict regarding his future with the club.
Sneijder was in talks with Galatasaray regarding a 10 million euros deal to move to the Turkish league. Over the weekend, there were reports that Liverpool were about step in with a rival bid. Tottenham are also reportedly interested in signing the Dutchman.
Sneijder hasn’t played for the Italian club since September since he refused a 2 million euro pay cut, with Moratti hoping to bring the uncomfortable stand off to an end. Moratti said: “It would be professional if he would make his decision by the end of the day.”
However, Sneijder seems to be in no hurry to make a decision. He said: “There are still two weeks to go before the end of the transfer window, so there is time. I am relaxed, and I’m considering my options.”
The official Galatasaray website has stated that a deal was agreed upon between the two clubs, but talks with the player are still going on. Galatasaray coach Fatih Terim said that Sneijder should look at the club as his first choice, and not as an alternative. He also said: “This club is not anyone’s plaything. Those who play here do not see Galatasaray as an alternative, but as a first choice. Otherwise, one must step aside.”
