#4 N'Golo Kante isn't adapted to his new role yet
N'Golo Kante is a fantastic footballer, arguably amongst the best in the world. However, he doesn't have what it takes to be a midfielder who plays in advanced positions yet. In the early stage, he was high up the pitch, ahead of West Ham's midfield. But, the Frenchman failed to pick the next forward pass and thus, Chelsea lost possession.
He didn't win the 50-50 battles either from that position down the right. More often than not, the 27-year-old picked a side pass. In the process of adding an attacking edge, he was dispossessed a good three-four times.
Let's not talk about his finishing. He had two chances in either halves, but both were off target. In the first-half, he met a cross but headed it wide. In the second, Hazard picked him in the box and Kante skied it. He should have at least shot that on target, as he was not particularly under pressure.
Also to mention, West Ham enjoyed a number of counter-attacks. Had Kante been in his deeper position, he would have nullified that aspect of the threat. Not many are sure if Jorginho can do that with that sort of sharpness.
