West Ham's Andy Carroll sued for allegedly trashing rented home

Tottenham Hotspur v West Ham United - Premier League

Trouble for Carroll?

According to Mirror, West Ham striker Andy Carroll is being sued for £200,000 for allegedly having trashed a rented five-bedroom mansion.

The owners of the property, Jeff and Dawn Grant, have claimed that the footballer hasn’t paid them rent worth £68,000.

Manleys Solicitors, for the Grants, said: “The property was returned to them in an extremely poor condition and, regrettably, they’ve had to issue legal proceedings.”

The owners claim that Carroll has caused serious damage to the property, including removal of furniture, leaving drink stains and scratching and damaging antiques, among other things.

The rent for the mansion, which is situated in Liverpool – Carroll’s former club – has allegedly not been paid ever since the 24-year-old moved to West Ham after a disappointing spell at Merseyside.

Although Carroll’s representatives have not made any public comments yet, it is understood that they are denying the charges.
