What did Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho say on the pitch after losing to Liverpool?

Jose Mourinho and Chelsea coaches have a lot to think about ahead of the game against Stoke City

What Jose Mourinho discussed at a post-match meeting with his coaching staff after the 3-1 defeat to Liverpool at Stamford Bridge has been revealed, with the help of a lip reader, according to the Mirror. Mourinho's men came into this game looking to improve on what has been one of the worst starts by a team looking to defend their Premier Leauge title while Liverpool had come to Stamford Bridge looking for their first win under Jurgen Klopp.

Chelsea began the game fairly well, scoring the first goal in the fourth minute. Cesar Azpilicueta ran past Liverpool's full-backs and lofted the ball into the penalty area and Ramires connected to it comfortably making it 1-0 to Chelsea. But Philippe Coutinho’s brace and Christian Benteke’s late goal gave the Reds all three points, condemning Chelsea to their sixth defeat in 11 matches.

The game also has its share of controversial moments. Klopp was involved in an altercation with Chelsea staff member Jose Morais, Lucas Leiva escaped a second yellow card booking and, most notably, Diego Costa escaped punishment from referee Mark Clattenburg for kicking out at Martin Skrtel.

Lip reader reads Mourinho’s comments after the match

After the game, Mourinho and his coaching staff were seen standing on the pitch, engaged in a discussion. The sources from Mirror have elucidated, to some extent, on what had been said.

"It's not... And we need to get it, the next one its really... Make sure.. Must NOT lose that one next week," Mourinho said, referring to the upcoming game against Stoke City. He then went on to comment on the referee brushing aside Lucas Leiva's challenge and not sending off the Liverpool man for a second yellow card.

"You know, it's not good and it's the sixth (defeat) but the problem was the... He didn't give... The yellow when he... And I don't know what will happen."

Finally, as the camera angle returned to capture Mourinho, he insisted on the team sticking together and also expressed his feelings toward his players.

"But you must all be together and ... but I cannot say to them that it's not, just erm, not right," he said.

Chelsea have had only 3 wins in 11 league games played so far this season. Mourinho's men have failed to deliver after winning two trophies last season with their lack of defensive cohesiveness and Eden Hazard's recent form being the main causes for concern.
