It’s time for the new season of the Premier League and as all the teams are busy preparing for a stable start to their campaign, the fans are also busy searching for the 2016/17 jerseys to support their favourite teams. Liverpool had earlier revealed their home and away kits in June, that had certainly got their fans buzzing with joy. The Merseyside had also unveiled the third kit on July 28 for the 2016/17 season.
American sportswear firm, New Balance, had announced in 2015 that they would be entering the global soccer market and replaced its subsidiary ‘Warrior’ as the official sponsor for Liverpool’s jerseys in a record-breaking kit deal, before the start of the 2015/16 season.
Home Kit
Produced by New Balance, the home kit retains the traditional all-red combination that the Liverpool supporters are used to seeing. The white lines that were used in the 2015/16 home kit are replaced by yellow lines. Official sponsors, Standard Chartered logo has been placed in the chest region as the Liver bird and the New Balance logo has been placed on the top left and top right corners respectively. Behind the shirt, ‘96’ is printed on the neck region as a remembrance for the victims of the Hillsborough disaster.
The shorts and socks maintain the same red colour that is used on the shirt. The Liver bird finds its place on the lower right corner of the shorts as the New Balance logo is placed on the lower left corner of the shorts. The goalkeeper’s shirt is all neon with black shoulder patches on the both sides.
Away Kit
The Away kit for the 2016/17 season uses black colour in combinations with silver and red, bearing resemblance to the third kit that used during the 2015/16 season. The away kit also features the polo collar (as used in the home kit) with silver lines on the outline. It also features four red lines on both sides of the shirt. The black shirt is combined black shorts and black socks, giving a unique appearance to the Merseyside for the upcoming season. The goalkeeper’s kit uses the orange colour with the black shoulder patches as used in the home kit.
Third Kit
Liverpool’s third kit is named ‘Toxic’ as it uses a bright green colour in combinations with grey and white lines that run through the chest and the shoulders. The shirt uses black above the chest as the white line separates it from the bright green colour. The shorts and the socks, retain the same colour as the shirt, giving Liverpool an interesting third kit option for the new season.
