Real Madrid put on a clinic as they thrashed Getafe 7-3 in their last La Liga match of the season. The match saw a hat-trick from Ronaldo, and goals from James Rodriguez, Jese, Hernandez and Marcelo, as Los Blancos overwhelmed the visitors.
The two most beautiful goals of the game though came from free-kicks, one taken by Ronaldo, and the other by James. Those two setpieces were perfect in their execution and left the goalkeeper with no chance, nestling in the corner to the keeper’s left on both occasions.
Ronaldo’s free-kick looked unstoppable right from the beginning, with the ball swerving and moving heavily to elude the despairing dive of the goalkeeper. James’ set-piece was more of a tease, with his execution so precise that the ball slowly curled away from the Getafe goalkeeper, almost playing a “game of catch me if you can.”
