Despite the fact it’s early in the season, this game tomorrow night is massive. Jose Mourinho and David Moyes go head to head in one of the most anticipated fixtures of the Premier League (despite what Rio Ferdinand says).
Chelsea will be keen to get the win and take a six point advantage over their main rivals at this stage and it will be more than interesting to see just how Jose approaches the game.
So far we have seen both Fernando Torres and Demba Ba start up front for Mourinho against Hull and Aston Villa respectively, I just wonder if we will get to see Romelu Lukaku finally get his chance to prove himself in a Chelsea shirt!.
This is no easy game as we know and it’s important we go there well organised and disciplined. Petr Cech is expected to get the nod in goal but as for the back four who knows!
Will we see Cesar Azpilicueta or Branislav Ivanovic at right back? Will David Luiz come in and play through the middle or will Gary Cahill and John Terry continue?
As for Ashley Cole, surely he gets the nod over Ryan Bertrand.
What about the holding two in midfield? Should Mikel come in along with Michael Essien? Will Frank Lampard continue next to Ramires or will Marco Van Ginkel start?
Finally what about our attacking three? Should Kevin De Bruyne come back into the team after being rested against Aston Villa? Will Juan Mata or Oscar start in the number ten role? Eden Hazard, Andre Schurrle or Victor Moses out wide?
Whoever starts needs to be ready for this one. I keep saying it but Chelsea have a real chance to signal our intent for the season. If we can win this one, go six points clear of Moyes and United, it will give us a massive confidence boost and psychological edge!
A defeat is not even under consideration!!
If I was Jose, I would start with the following eleven:
Cech, Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry (c), Cole, Essien, Ramires, De Bruyne, Mata, Hazard and Lukaku.
