MUNICH, GERMANY – MAY 19: Gary Cahill (L) and Ashley Cole of Chelsea celebrate with their medals after their victory in the UEFA Champions League Final between FC Bayern Muenchen and Chelsea at the Fussball Arena München on May 19, 2012 in Munich, Germany.
Bolton Wanderers – A club that has always been there for Chelsea.
It’s very peculiar if you took their history. They have always been there for the Blues. They lose all their games against the West Londoners, be they. They also often lose by a big margin.
They’ve provided Chelsea some world class players like Eidur Gudjohnsen and Nicolas Anelka, who blossomed during their respective careers at Chelsea. They also nurtured and gave Dan Sturridge back to West London after he had a terrific half-season loan at Bolton, finding the back of the net 8 times in 12 matches. He is now recognised as an important player for the blues.
Last but not the least, the trotters presented Chelsea with Gary Cahill, for just 7 million pounds.
Although he took some time to adjust, the English International seems to be getting on top of his game, with a superb performance in the CL Final alongside Brazil international David Luiz underlining that fact. He may not be fully adjusted to Chelsea’s competitiveness (you can expect that from a player who until recently played for a club fighting for relegation) but it will only be a matter of time for the English international to shine in Blue.
Therefore, Chelsea would dearly miss Bolton and will surely hope they can return next season.
